Project Manager

AllerGenis is seeking an experienced Project Manager who is enthusiastic about biotechnology, scientific research, and improving human health. We’re looking for someone who excels at coordinating cross-functional teams, managing resources with multiple stakeholders across our organization, and communicating technical content to diverse audiences. You will join a highly collaborative group that supports a wide variety of functions across our company. By helping our scientists in prioritizing, tracking, and completing work on several projects, you will enhance the effectiveness of our team. You will coordinate with others within AllerGenis to ensure that our group’s resources are efficiently deployed and utilized to advance our goals.

You will have extensive experience independently and proactively managing rapidly changing project priorities for a widely dispersed team of scientists. You will have the strong technical and biological background needed to communicate with people in a variety of roles at our growing biotech company and you will have experience in a regulated (CLIA/FDA) environment.

This is a part-time, contract position.  While you can work remotely in this role, frequent and consistent in-person interactions in our Hatfield, PA lab will be required.  You will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

How You Will Help Drive Our Success

Through your experience and expertise, you will:

  • Coordinate internal resources, laboratory operations, research, sales, and third parties/vendors for the implementation of a project framework and execution of projects
  • Track budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives while involving all relevant stakeholders and verifying technical feasibility
  • Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress which can be shared with clients as well as other staff members
  • Build and maintain a system for consistently tracking project status, and maintaining records, notes, documents, etc. pertaining to all projects
  • Prepare, review and negotiate changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate techniques
  • Track and drive project performance and deliverables, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals
  • Identify and organize project priorities, blockers and dependencies, ensure resource availability and allocation, work with scientists to identify and minimize project risks

And you will be an organizational and strategic leader by:

  • Providing regular, proactive and consistent communication with people from various educational and cultural backgrounds; works effectively with variety of people in a diverse workforce

  • Owning all laboratory operations input into company-wide commercial and R&D planning

Who You Are

You will bring the following education and experience to our team:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management is required; must demonstrate the successful management of multiple projects over the course of your project management career
  • Project management experience in a regulated (CLIA/FDA) commercial and research & development environment is required
  • Experience in a small startup-up, entrepreneurial, high growth, life sciences or diagnostics environment is highly preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences or similar field is preferred (additional project management work experience in biotech or a life science company in lieu of Bachelor’s degree will be considered)
  • Certification in Project Management is preferred

You will also demonstrate and bring the following:

  • Proven successful experience with change management; prioritizing, shifting, managing, and “fitting together” multiple, simultaneous projects
  • Masterful time management skills (in yourself and instilling in others); experience successfully managing multiple stakeholders’ projects and keeping all team members on time and on task
  • Proven ability to work independently and proactively
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and accomplish tasks as well as you manage the tasks of others
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with research projects or projects with large unknowns
  • Proficiency with MS Office
